How to Obtain a FSSAI FoSCos License?

The Food Safety and Security Authority of India provides FSSAI licenses to Food Business Operators (FBOs) to certify the safety, quality, and hygiene of their products. While offline applications are an option, the online submission process via the FoSCos (Food Safety Compliance System) web portal is quicker and easier. This portal manages the entire process, issuing licenses to eligible applicants. Access to the application link is available through the FoSCos FSSAI portal.

What is FoSCos FSSAI license?

FoSCos, which stands for Food Safety Compliance System, is the platform through which FSSAI licenses are issued to Food Business Operators (FBOs) upon successful application. As mandated by the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2011, the FSSAI license is indispensable for businesses involved in food manufacturing, packaging, processing, and storage across India. This license serves as a testament to the compliance of FBOs with regulatory standards, enabling them to acquire additional licenses, permissions, and even import and export codes crucial for their operations.

Displaying a 14-digit number on food packaging, the FSSAI license significantly boosts consumer confidence. Consumers can enjoy food products with peace of mind, knowing they are safe and free from contamination. Obtaining an FSSAI license or registration certificate is streamlined through the FoSCos portal, ensuring FBOs adhere to regulatory requirements while fostering consumer trust in the safety and quality of their products.
